At the Park

Isaac at the Park (2008)

Feeding the Ducks

We took Isaac to the park this morning to feed the ducks. He danced after almost every throw.

Change

It is a season of change in the Allen's home.

Early this month, Charisse Rose came into our lives. That was a bit of a change. Betsie and I are learning to play "man-to-man" defense now. Isaac is learning to be a big brother. And Charisse is trying to learn the difference between day and night.

After the 25th of this month, after 9 years (or so) I will no longer be employed at Scott and White Hospital. I've accepted a position at Proactive Communications Inc. as a Security Engineer. There is a lot to learn there and I look forward to the challenge.

Both these changes are positive, and both are pretty big for us. They say a new baby and a new job are two of the most stressful life events (or so I'm told). We've decided take them both on at the same time.....

Change is inevitable (except from a vending machine).

Charisse Rose Allen

Charisse Rose Allen was born Friday April 4th, 2008 at 11:25am. She came in weighing 7lbs 6oz and 18 3/4 inches long. We only spent one evening at the hospital (which was a blessing) and now we're all home and trying to figure what sleep is again.

Not Really

It's just April 1.

It's Twins!

wow.

Twins.

More later.

The Allen Drummer Boys

Isaac loves the drums. Every Sunday after church he runs into the Sanctuary and climbs the steps and asks to play the drums. Last Sunday, Trey Bledsoe snapped some pictures of us sitting at the drum set. Believe me, we look better than we sound.... :-)

Baby Allen #2

I do believe we have announced this everywhere but on our website! Sheesh! What kind of proud parents are we, anyway??

Betsie and I are expecting God's blessing of Baby Allen #2 this coming April.

We've told Isaac, but he really has *no* idea how drastically his life is about to change. We're doing our best to prepare him, but really, there's no way he'll really understand until it happens...

We've got the (early) sonogram pictures scanned already -- I'll try and get those up here in a bit.

Happy 2nd Birthday to Isaac

Today is Isaac's second birthday. Unbelievable that it's already been two years.

I'm sure we'll have pictures (and maybe some video) up later. We've been going back and watching the video from two years ago - Isaac Allen: The First Two Weeks.

(Why it picked that shot from the video for the highlight is beyond me. Wish I could change that.....)

Isaac the Hacker

This morning I left my laptop open in my recliner and walked away for a few minutes. When I came back, I found Isaac had climbed up into the recliner and started playing on the laptop.
