Not too long ago, I came across the NoiseTrade website, where you can download music (legally) for free (if you email X number of friends about the album) or pay what you want to the artist.

Not a bad concept, especially for unknown artists. I've downloaded a few of them and I really like The Allens (and not because we happen to share the same name). :-) Turns out the group is made up of a husband/wife pair out of Midland, Texas.

I've also downloaded albums from Derek Webb, Phil Joel, Sandra McCraken, Dawson Wells, and just downloaded Awake! Awake! Anywho, Noisetrade is probably worth a look, especially if you like indie bands.

We took Isaac to the park this morning to feed the ducks. He danced after almost every throw.

Hmmmm........I wonder who that one woman might have been? And I personally think it was probably closer to 6,000 years ago, but that's another matter....

It is a season of change in the Allen's home.

Early this month, Charisse Rose came into our lives. That was a bit of a change. Betsie and I are learning to play "man-to-man" defense now. Isaac is learning to be a big brother. And Charisse is trying to learn the difference between day and night.

After the 25th of this month, after 9 years (or so) I will no longer be employed at Scott and White Hospital. I've accepted a position at Proactive Communications Inc. as a Security Engineer. There is a lot to learn there and I look forward to the challenge.

Both these changes are positive, and both are pretty big for us. They say a new baby and a new job are two of the most stressful life events (or so I'm told). We've decided take them both on at the same time.....

Change is inevitable (except from a vending machine).

Charisse Rose Allen was born Friday April 4th, 2008 at 11:25am. She came in weighing 7lbs 6oz and 18 3/4 inches long. We only spent one evening at the hospital (which was a blessing) and now we're all home and trying to figure what sleep is again.
